Summary

“Cos4Cloud addresses some of the biggest challenges of citizen science: difficulties integrating and exchanging data among different projects and apps; lack of technological capacity, and significant costs for ensuring sustainability… How? By co-designing from the bottom-up ten technological services that will help citizen observatories increase the observations’ credibility so that the academic, political, and social fields trust to use them. The Cos4Cloud project relies on the participation of a network of 9 citizen observatories and Do it Yourself (DIY) initiatives focused on biodiversity and the environmental monitoring that will test the services with their users. Once ready, the services will be uploaded to the European Open Science Cloud (EOSC).

You also can contribute to co-design and test these services by joining the cos4Cloud community!”

Researcher Profile

"The Cos4Cloud team is made up of researchers and experts from a large number of different fields and countries, all of which are key to the success of the project. Cos4Cloud is coordinated by Instituto de Ciencias del Mar (ICM) located at Barcelona, the fourth largest research institute of the Spanish National Research Council (CSIC) and the largest dedicated to marine research.
Various research centres, companies and organizations from eight countries participate in the project.
