Summary

The vasculature is essential for cardiovascular function. The most diverse vascular layer is the understudied perivascular adipose tissue, PVAT. A new Program Project Grant based on the hypothesis that PVAT is a central integrator of vascular health will test four new ideas in four projects, supported by three experimental cores. The findings will redefine the role of PVAT and could open doors to new avenues of therapeutic interventions for vascular-related diseases.
