BEST-Storage: building an energy efficient system through short and long spectrum thermal energy storage

Buildings consume a majority of global electricity, with around 50% dedicated to thermal needs. Trends like electric vehicles and heat pumps affect power consumption, intensifying their impact. This high energy demand poses environmental and economic challenges, emphasizing the need for demand response strategies that shift usage to off-peak times. The BEST-Storage project is pivotal in achieving peak load reduction, energy conservation, and cost minimization.
