How can we boost product sustainability and safety with digital threads and material passports?
Summary
Prof. Dan Cogswell and his research team at the University of Sheffield are developing materials based digital threads to store and analyse real-time materials data gathered during component manufacturing. From these, material passports can be generated that contain a summary of the component’s entire journey from its origin through raw material processing until it retires from service.
