Connecting the Dots: What is needed to advance global gender equality and empowerment?

The Population Institute highlights the importance of robust U.S. support – both financial and political – for sexual and reproductive health and rights in efforts to advance global gender equality and empowerment. This requires the U.S. to increase support for international family planning and reproductive health programming to $1.74 billion annually and address the barriers that are entrenched in funding allocations, foreign policies, and norms and values that prevent the achievement of gender equality.
