DRUID: Fighting neglected tropical diseases
Summary
The LOEWE Center DRUID unites experts from leading German research institutions (Universities of Giessen, Marburg, Frankfurt, the Paul Ehrlich Institut (PEI) in Langen and the University of Applied Sciences of Central Hesse). The aim of DRUID is to identify and characterize target molecules for the development of drugs and diagnostic tools to combat poverty-associated, neglected infectious diseases.

The LOEWE Center DRUID unites leading research institutions within the German state of Hesse with the shared aim to combat poverty-associated, neglected tropical infectious diseases (NTDs). Experts from three medical universities as well as from the Paul Ehrlich Institute (PEI) in Langen and the University of Applied Sciences of Central Hessen investigate urgent issues in identifying and characterizing potential target molecules for the development of drugs, vaccines, and diagnostic tools.
