Do firms move work in-house when coordination requirements increase?

George Chondrakis, Eduardo Melero and Mari Sako collaborated on the study entitled “The effect of coordination requirements on sourcing decisions: evidence from patent prosecution services” to be published in the Strategic Management Journal.

George Chondrakis is an associate professor of strategic management and the director of the entrepreneurship institute at Esade Business School. His research interests center around sourcing strategies, mergers & acquisitions, and intellectual property rights.

Eduardo Melero is associate professor of management in the Department of Business Administration at Universidad Carlos III de Madrid. His research interests include topics in Innovation Studies, Human Resources, Labor Economics and Organizational Economics.

Mari Sako is Professor of Management Studies at Saïd Business School and Professorial Fellow at New College, University of Oxford. Her main areas of expertise include global strategy, comparative institutional analysis, outsourcing and offshoring, and professional services.
