Summary
Obstetric fistula is an immense health problem, mostly affecting women in Asia and sub-Saharan Africa. It is usually caused by a difficult or obstructed labour, mostly due to the lack of access to appropriate obstetric care. The University Hospitals Cleveland Medical Center Urology Institute aims to change this by promoting collaboration between surgeons and organizations and by sharing our surgical experience with local surgical professionals.
