Summary

Skin disease and complex wounds account for around 24% of NHS GP consultations and cost more than £5 billion a year. Ranging from relatively benign to life-threatening and life-ruining, these disorders affect huge numbers of people. Established over 25 years ago, the Centre for Dermatology Research at UoM brings together clinicians, scientists, psychologists, industry and patients to translate early discoveries into new treatments for psoriasis, photodermatoses, wound healing and inflammatory hair loss.
