How can patient and public involvement improve healthcare and research?
Summary
Prompted by discussions about possible research on people who take multiple medicines, our team at the University of Nottingham worked with public contributors from a patient and public involvement (PPI) group to explore whether people have medication reviews and what difference they make. Working together as part of the project team, alongside clinicians, statisticians, pharmacists, and other researchers, they ensured the public contributors felt confident about being involved in a quantitative health research project.
