Summary
Earth has survived billions of years of asteroid bombardment, ice ages and climate change – but will we? The unprecedented increase in atmospheric carbon dioxide since the industrial age means that civilization faces a new challenge. Whilst the search is on for habitable planets beyond Earth, there is no way in the foreseeable future to reach even the nearest one. We must care for the world we have – there is no Planet B.
