Summary

Privatization programmes have been justified as a shift from state to private ownership to improve efficiency. However, a review entitled “Privatization: Implications of a Shift from State to Private Ownership” challenges some of the long-standing assumptions about privatization, offering a more nuanced and contextualised understanding of the practice. The co-authors, Mislav Radić, Davide Ravasi and Kamal Munir, highlight that despite theoretical predictions, past studies have produced mixed results.
