Submission of carcass to the veterinary laboratory: Farmer influences
Summary
Irish Farmers have the option to take dead animals to the Regional Veterinary Laboratory (RVL), here they can have a post-mortem report and diagnostic tests run on the animal to try to determine the cause of death. Running these diagnostics not only helps farmers understand the health status of their animals, but it also contributed to a national picture of the health of the national herd and contributes to the Irish public health system.
