Led by Aalborg University, UPLIFT is formed by AIMPLAS, Acib GmbH, Bio Base Europe Pilot Plant, Bio - Mi d.o.o, Forschungszentrum BIOPLASTECH, Jülich GmbH, Lund University, Sustainable Innovations, TECNARO GmbH, the Leibniz Institute for Natural Product Research and Infection Biology – Hans Knöll Institute, the RWTH Aachen University, the Technical University of Denmark, University College of Dublin and Vestforbrænding. The project has received nearly 7,5 million euros funding from the European Union's Horizon 2020 research and innovation programme under grant agreement number 953073.




UPLIFT is a project to improve the recycling of plastics for the food and drinks packaging industry. It aims to design new de- and repolymerisation routes to upcycle food and drink packaging plastics with better end-of-life characteristics.

Researcher Profile

The consortium is formed by 15 partners from 8 different countries. Most of them are universities, research centers and private consultants in the framework of engineering.
