Summary

Good pain management is important to help recovery after amputation surgery. The PLACEMENT trial is looking at the use of a perineural catheter (PNC) as a way of managing pain after leg amputation surgery. We want to know whether using a PNC will affect postoperative pain, the use of pain management medication, and longer-term phantom pain (pain felt in the foot that’s no longer there).
