Summary

In the poultry industry, Feed Conversion Ratio (FCR) is the essential amount of feed needed to bring a broiler to harvest weight. One of the most common approaches to enhance FCR is to use enzyme additives in chicken feed. The problem with enzyme additives is that they are not stable in the early gastrointestinal tract of the animal, reducing its FCR effectiveness. Using a thermoacidotolerant mobile enzyme sequestration platform (MESP), these enzymes can be protected and absorbable nutrients maximized to increase FCR and profits.
