Summary

1 in 3 people are colonised with MRSA, an antibiotic-resistant strain of bacteria. In some cases, MRSA can cause infection, which can be difficult to treat as the bacteria grow resistant to routine treatment. TIDE is aiming to recruit 3000 NHS hospital in-patients to be part of a trial to find alternative safe and effective treatments to eliminate MRSA colonisation, and reduce the chance of infection in hospitals.
